In times of confusion and division, it's more important than ever to keep telling the stories that people in power want to silence, and to tell them as widely as possible. Making comics is important to me because they are a form of accessible art that anyone can own -- they're meant to be widely-available. This small first issue of my story about queer love and chosen family is a lighthearted narrative that resists attempts to silence LGBTQ+ voices while also creating a story *for* the community. In this narrative, friendship and love take center stage instead of being a queer story all about queer pain. The work is meant to comfort and entertain the LGBTQ+ community, not pander to oppressors for sympathy or acceptance.
